Pinewood Derby

For those of you novice Pinewood Derbyiers out there, this is some serious stuff!

How little did I know. These cars are weighed and measured . Way, way, way serious.

The rules on how and what can be done in the creation of your derby car were a solid single spaced page. But alas, we qualified. Phil and Cohen had a great time making his derby car. Phil even brought home the mail scale from the office to accurately weigh the car.

Cohen has two super scout leaders, one which is shown here (he was also a most excellent home teacher for years and makes the most fabulous homemade root beer!)

Since our chapel is new and the scout program, a new track was purchased. It was a metal track. It is supposedly slower than a wood track, but much more accurate.

We had a wonderful first Pinewood Derby. May there be many more to come.

Pine wood derbys are fun! Cohen's car looks great. You should rent 'Down and Derby' to get a funny look at pinewood derby's.
